Free Valet Parking Available for Oswego Hospital Patients

OSWEGO – Patients at Oswego Hospital can now take advantage of a perk that will keep them warm and dry when they arrive by vehicle at the healthcare facility: free valet parking services.

Oswego Hospital began offering free valet parking services to patients today. Pictured are Tyler Krebs and Jeff Keaty of Valet Park of America, which is providing the new service.

Oswego Hospital began offering the complimentary valet parking service today (Dec. 4) to patients using one of the hospital’s many services.

Motorists, who wish to take advantage of this new patient initiative, need to just drive up to the hospital’s main covered entrance between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. weekdays.

A uniformed attendant from Valet Park of America will greet patients when they arrive.

Similar to valet services at a hotel, motorists will give their keys to the attendant, who will park their car nearby. When the patient is ready to return home, the attendant will retrieve their car, bringing it back to the hospital’s covered entrance.

Patients who need to remain at the hospital after 4:30 p.m. will be able to retrieve their car keys from hospital lobby security personnel.

There is, however, one thing different from a hotel valet service.

Oswego Hospital is providing this service for free and tipping the attendants is not allowed.

“We are pleased to introduce this new service to our hospital patients, as we recognize the need for a parking solution as we add services, such as bariatrics and wound care,” said Oswego Health President and CEO Michael Harlovic. “We want our patients to have the best possible patient satisfaction experience and this initiative will help us achieve this goal.”

Providing the new service is Valet Park of America, based in Springfield, Mass., which offers this service to hospitals and other industries across the country.

It’s bad enough they wasted thousands of dollars on pictures to spruce up the place, now valet parking. How about spending the money on the backbone of the hospital, the support staff.

Gee Mack, have you tried to park there? City street parking, 2 blocks away and it was pouring rain today when I was just a visitor. Sounds like a good idea to me.

They should be spending their money on training for their billing dept. Those people do not know how to code.
