FULL SPEED AHEAD AS 2011 SEASON AT OSWEGO SPEEDWAY STARTS TO TAKE SHAPE

*** Oswego Speedway Press ***

Plans for the 2011 season at the Oswego Speedway are underway with sponsorship renewal proposals in the mail to the businesses that support racing at the speedway along with the framework of the 2011 racing schedule.

The 2011 season will start off with the Mitchell’s Speedway Press and Chris Nelson Insurance Awards Banquet. The racing season will likely contain one or two more point races than it did in 2010. Once the season begins there should only be three breaks in the action from the start of the season to the end of the season. Those breaks would be on June 25th, July 23rd and the week after the International Classic. The point races for the Novelis Supermodifieds and the PathFinder Bank SBS Series may end with a “Fall Championship” weekend during September.

2011 will mark the third installment of the “King of Wings” weekend on Friday and Saturday July 8th and 9th. The second annual “Rev & Rock” concert will be on the schedule as well. The biggest addition to the schedule is the plan for one race night to include a current Indy Car driver and a NASCAR Cup “Chase” driver both in competition at the “Big O”.

All of the details for the 2011 schedule should be finalized with sponsor names by the end of January as it is each off season. The information will be sent off to Mitchell’s Speedway Press and full color schedules and posters will be available for the Gater Racing News Motorsports Expo at the New York State Fairgrounds next March.

Sponsorship commitments and race date details will be passed along in press releases during the off season. The 61st season of racing at the Oswego Speedway will mark milestones for both divisions at the track as it will be the 20th season of competition for the PathFinder Bank SBS Series and the 50th season of competition for the Novelis Supermodifieds.
