FULTON – Lakeside Christian Ministries is hosting backyard barbecues every Sunday evening from June 26 through Sept. 4.
The barbecues will take place at the home of Pastor Chuck and Betsy Copps, 38 Bakeman St., Fulton.
The grill will be lit around 5 p.m., with food being served at 6 p.m.
“We’re shifting from a Sunday morning service to a Sunday evening gathering, with a simple summer menu, light music, and the opportunity to toast marshmallows over the fire pit,” explained Pastor Copps. “Instead of a specific Bible teaching planned in advance, we’re going to focus on whatever the group wants to talk about. We might discuss the issues of the day such as raising kids or caring for aging parents, or explore questions about God, the Bible, and church. Or both!”
The menu will be simple: hot dogs and coneys, salad and chips, and non-alcoholic beverages.
The gatherings will wrap up no later than 8 p.m., “when the mosquitoes come out,” Pastor Copps said. “This time is meant to be family friendly. Bring the family, some lawn chairs and your appetite!”
Lakeside Christian Ministries is a non-denominational church meeting in Fulton.
