FULTON, NY – Fulton Community Theatre will hold open auditions for the romantic comedy “Shooting Star” by Steven Dietz, the first production of its 2015 season.
Auditions will be held on December 1 and 2 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Tavern on the Lock Restaurant and Bar, 24 S. First St.
The production will be directed by Michael A. Bolio. No preparation is necessary; auditioners will read scenes from the script.
The production will run weekends, February 7, 8, 14 and 15, 2015, as a dinner theatre production in the restaurant’s events room.
The comedy, which continues FCT’s recent string of Valentine’s Day offerings, poses the question, “Can young love make a return engagement?”
Reed and Elena were college sweethearts but haven’t seen each other in 25 years. Both are now in their 40s.
He’s grown into a suit-and-tie with Blackberry. She has remained an idealistic hippy. When both are stranded at the same snowed-in airport during the “blizzard of the century,” the conversation crackles and the sparks begin to fly.
When morning comes and all flights are cleared for departure – what’s the final destination for these two?
Shooting Star is a sweet, touching comedy filled with humor, heartache, secrets and snow.
Both of the roles, Reed and Elena are open.
