FULTON -Ten students from Fulton’s G. Ray Bodley High School recently earned the State Education Department’s 2016 Scholarship for Academic Excellence.
The annual awards initiative provides a financial boost for high school seniors who plan to attend college next year and who perform exceptionally on Regents exams in the four core subjects.
Statewide, 2,000 students received scholarships for $1,500, while another 6,000 earned $500 each toward their college tuition.
According to GRB Principal Donna Parkhurst, this year’s senior class excelled on its Regents exams, and two students — Caleb Almeter and David Tallents — earned the top award of $1,500.
Students Donna Aiken, Gina Babcock, Michael Bolster, Keegan Condon, Olivia Coakley, Kayla Dingman, Althea Henderson and Emilee Hyde were awarded $500 scholarships.
