Fulton Junior High Hosts NYSSMA Solo Festival

The Fulton City School District played host to hundreds of students for the New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) Solo Festival Zone 4 recently. Students in grades four to twelve performed vocal, band and orchestra solos and ensembles for NYSSMA state-certified judges. More than 900 entries were registered to perform and students participating received a numerical rating along with written comments and feedback from the judge who listened to their performance. The solo festival provided participants with valuable insight and learning opportunities. Pictured is Joanna Hirsch, a senior trumpet player from the Mexico School District.
