Members of the Fulton Common Council honored the organizers of the annual Thanksgiving Dinner at State Street United Methodist Church, a free dinner that is open to anyone.
“There are people in this city who don’t have a thing,” said Alderman Tom Kenyon. “We appreciate what you do.” “We appreciate the community’s efforts” in putting on the dinner, said committee member Spencer Ludington. Committee member Muriel Allerton added, “It makes people happy and happiness is in short supply these days.”
Ludington singled out the dinner’s organizer, Carol Dexter, for particular praise, saying it wouldn’t happen without her.
The dinner takes place Thanksgiving Day from noon to 3:00 p.m.
It is put on by the members of the State Street United Methodist Church, Fulton Salvation Army, First United Church of Fulton and the Greater Fulton Area Council of Churches.
