A Fulton man is charged with felony assault after an incident that left an infant with a broken leg.
Fulton Police allege that Chad A. Ellis, 26, of 208 Utica St., Apt. 2, Fulton was at an apartment on Hannibal St. in Fulton on December 12, 2009. They allege he threw a five month old girl onto a bed and left her alone in the room for a time.
Returning later, Ellis found that the child’s leg was discolored and had a bump protruding from it, police alleged.
Police said Ellis tried to fix the leg by trying to push the bone back into place.
The injury was not found until the girl was taken to her doctor three days later, where the doctor diagnosed a transverse femur fracture.
Ellis was charged with felony assault, misdemeanor assault and endangering the welfare of a child.
Fulton City Court Judge Spencer Ludington sent Ellis to the county jail on bail of $15,000 cash or $25,000 bond. He is scheduled to return to Fulton City Court on February 17 at 9:00 a.m.
