PULASKI, NY – On August 31, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children contacted the New York State Police Internet Crimes Against Children’s Task Force regarding a possible on-line enticement case that occurred in the Oswego County area.
A joint investigation by the NYSP Computer Crime Unit and members of the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation in Pulaski identified a 15-year-old victim.
The investigation revealed that the victim received a friend request from an individual by the name of Michael Becker on Facebook.
The communication continued via the internet and text messaging, resulting in the suspect eventually engaging in sexual intercourse with the 15-year-old girl in the town of Granby.
Michael S. Becker, 26, of Fulton, NY, was arrested and charged with Rape 3rd, a class “E” felony; Disseminating Indecent material 1st, a class “D” felony and Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a class “A” misdemeanor.
He was arraigned in the town of Granby and remanded to Oswego County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash and $10,000 bond.
