Fulton Man Charged in Connection with Multiple Burglaries at Apartment Complex

Fulton, NY – On April 16, Fulton Police arrested Shane M. Merritt, 29, of Holly Drive in Fulton, following an investigation into several reports of missing prescription medication at a local apartment complex, Holly Garden Apartments at 828 Holly Drive in Fulton.

Merritt lives and works as a maintenance man at Holly Garden Apartments.

He allegedly used his master keys to enter various tenants’ apartments while they were away.

Once inside, Merritt is believed to have stolen several bottles of prescription medication.

Fulton Police charged Merritt in four separate investigations with two counts of second-degree burglary (class C felony), three counts of petit larceny, three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance and one count of criminal trespass.

Merritt was arraigned in Fulton City Court and bail was set.

Merritt was remanded to the Oswego County Public Safety Center in lieu of $5,000 cash/$10,000 bond.
