SCHROEPPEL – On April 16, at approximately 1:47 a.m., State Police responded to a one-car motor vehicle accident on County Route 57 in the town of Schroeppel.
Investigation at the scene revealed the operator, Shawn M. Riddell, 22, of Fulton, was traveling on County Route 57 when he lost control of the vehicle, exited the roadway and struck a telephone pole.
Riddell was determined to be intoxicated, and found to be in possession of marijuana, according to the police report.
Riddell was taken into custody and transported to SP Fulton where he was charged with Driving While Intoxicated, an unclassified misdemeanor, and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, a violation.
He was released to a third party and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Schroeppel Court on April 27 at 5:30 p.m.
