FULTON, NY – A Fulton man is facing several charges, including rape, following a lengthy investigation by the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office.
On Wednesday, deputies arrested Martin Lain Woodward, 45, of 345 Rathburn Road, Fulton, at 12:15 p.m.
He was charged with two counts of first-degree rape, a class B felony; two counts of first-degree criminal sex act, a class B felony; second-degree sex abuse, a class A misdemeanor and sex conduct against a child, a class B felony following the investigation into incidents that occurred in the town of Hannibal in 2003 and 2004 when he allegedly engaged in sexual intercourse, oral sexual conduct and finger to vagina contact with the victim being less than 13 years of age at the time of the incidents.
Mr. Woodward was arraigned by Hon. Judge Adkins in the Town of Scriba Court and remanded to the OCJ in lieu of $10,000 cash or $20,000 bond.
He is to appear in Town of Hannibal Court on Jan. 10.
At the same time, Mr. Woodward was charged with first-degree sex abuse, a class D felony for an incident that occurred in November 2001 when he allegedly forcibly inserted his finger into the victim’s vagina, with the victim being less than 12 years of age at the time, at a residence in the town of Granby.
Mr. Woodward was arraigned in the Town of Scriba for this charge and remanded to the OCJ in lieu of the previous bail with a return to Town of Granby Court on Jan. 9.
