Training, Careers Expo Set March 22

MEXICO – Area high school students looking for employment will have the perfect chance to explore current job opportunities available in Oswego County at the third annual Training and Careers Expo.

The event, hosted by the Center for Instruction, Technology and Innovation, the Workforce Development Board of Oswego County, the Oswego City-County Youth Bureau and SUNY Oswego’s Office of Business and Community Relations, will be held at CiTi’s Mexico campus on March 22 and is open to all juniors and seniors of Oswego County.

The event will feature area employers and training providers, and focuses on introducing students to good paying, local job opportunities in the areas of advanced manufacturing, healthcare, energy and the skilled trades.

Students will visit booths to learn more about the job opportunities available, salary, training, expected work habits and career progression of each of the four featured career clusters.

Employers and training providers set to attend this year’s Expo include Oswego Health, Huhtamaki, Novelis, Dynergy, Exelon Generation, Plumbers’ and Steamfitters’ Local #73, NYS JATCT/IBEW/NECA, Oswego County Workforce NY, SUNY Oswego, Cayuga Community College, Onondaga Community College, the Center for Career and Community Education, Bryant and Stratton, Oswego Fire Department, Oswego Police Department, ACCES-VR, the armed services and more.
