FULTON, NY – On March 30, at approximately 7 p.m., the Fulton Police Department arrested a woman for Driving While Intoxicated while having three children under the age of 15 inside the vehicle.
A vehicle was observed by an officer to cross over the center line of the street in the 100 block of West Broadway.
Upon stopping the vehicle, the officer observed the driver of the vehicle, identified as Valeri R. Dedich of Bakeman Street in Fulton, to exhibit signs of intoxication.
Dedich reportedly admitted to drinking alcohol and failed several field sobriety tests, police said.
After further investigation, officers also found that there were three children, all under the age of 15, riding as passengers in the vehicle.
One was seated in the front passenger seat with the two others seated as rear passengers.
The children were turned over to another adult who responded to the scene.
Dedich was arrested and charged with: Driving While Intoxicated – with a Child, Class E Felony; Driving While Intoxicated, Class U Misdemeanor; Driving While Intoxicated with a BAC greater than .08%, Class U Misdemeanor; and Failure to Keep Right, a violation.
Dedich was arraigned by Fulton City Court Judge Hawthorne and released on her own recognizance.
She is scheduled to return to court on April 16 at 9 a.m.
