FULTON, NY – On Tuesday (September 27), members of the Fulton Police Department located an alleged methamphetamine lab in a wooded area adjacent to West Seventh Street North in the town of Granby.
Police were called to the area after a report was made about a suspicious man entering the woods.
Upon searching the area, investigators located a camp site and tent found to be occupied by 36-year-old Richard Otis Olsen.
Upon further investigation, debris in the area consistent with the manufacturing of methamphetamine was found, according to police.
The New York State Police Contaminated Crime Scene Emergency Response Team was contacted and responded to process and decontaminate the scene.
Olsen was arrested and charged with:
Unlawful Manufacture of Methamphetamine in the 3rd Degree – Class D felony
Criminal Possession of Precursors of Methamphetamine – Class E Felony
He was arraigned in Granby Town Court and sent to the Oswego County Jail on $25,000 bail / $50,000 bond.
Olsen is due back in Granby Town Court on October 3.
