The team is comprised of 15 and 16 year olds.

“We went 16-1 so far this season, including a Division Title, the Senior League Playoff Championship and the District 8 All Star Championship, which we won recently,” said Dave Webber, manager.

The team must be in Dix Hills, NY, July 23 – 28. The estimated cost just to send the players and coaches to the championships is $5,000.

They are seeking assistance from area businesses and residents.

“Any donation would be greatly appreciated,” said. Joe LaBeef, Fulton Little League’s Senior Baseball Coordinator.

In the All Star Tournament, the team lost to Seneca River North, 7-5, in its first game, which put them in the losers’ bracket.

“From there, we knew we had to win three games in three days to advance to the States. Saturday, we beat Cicero, 13-3; Sunday, we avenged our loss to SRN, 6-2, at their field; and Monday we won 8-2, at Fulton, to qualify for the States,” Webber said. “The last three wins were all well-pitched games that also featured good defense, solid base running and timely hitting – our recipe for success all season.”

When you dominate the three All Star wins in a must-win situation by a combined 27-7 score, you know you have a good team, he said.

“The character and chemistry on this team has been there all season,” the manager added.
