Fulton YMCA Offers Classes For Youth

FULTON – The Fulton Family YMCA is now in full swing running their fall fitness classes for youth and adults. For Youth – the YMCA has added a Kids’ Gym class for ages 9-12 on Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:30pm – 5:15pm, and for Kids’ age 5-8 on Tuesday from 4:30pm – 5:15pm.

Kids Gym is a program which teaches young children about the importance of physical fitness and shows them how fun it can be. The class is designed to touch on a variety of skills which includes a warm up, and cool down. New activities will be added to each class weekly. The activities are age appropriate movements and games which enhance gross motor skills. This includes running, galloping, skipping, hopping, jumping, throwing etc. Activities reinforce balance, coordination, agility, flexibility, spatial awareness and team work. Zumba for kids will also be incorporated into all this fun!

A Kid’s Yoga/Pilates class will be offered on Thursday from 4:30pm – 5:15pm for those who are 5 – 10 years of age. Kids’ Pilates/Yoga improves health, concentration, physical fitness, emotional balance, self esteem, relieves stress and encourages cooperation. Children will learn through creative expressions.
