William Smith College junior forward Kristen Kush (G. Ray Bodley/Fulton, N.Y.) was named to the Liberty League Women’s Basketball Team of the Week by the conference office today. She led the Herons to a third place finish in the Wendy’s College Classic, averaging 14.0 points and 7.3 rebounds.

Kush scored a team-high 16 points and collected eight rebounds in a 73-49 opening round win over Brockport. She netted a game-high 16 points in an 85-51 semifinal loss to Rochester. Kush closed out the week with her first double-double of the season on 10 points and 10 rebounds as the Herons beat Geneseo 64-59.

Overall, Kush is sixth in the Liberty league in scoring (15.7 ppg), eighth in field goal percentage (.448), and 12th in rebounding (6.7 rpg).

William Smith is 3-3 this season. The Herons return to action on Thursday, Dec. 9, when they visit Keuka (6-1). Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
