G. Ray Bodley Presents Dozens of Awards at Annual Ceremony


The 32nd Annual Academic Awards Night was held recently at G. Ray Bodley High School.

G. Ray Bodley students Michael Holcomb, MaKenna Cealie, Megan Nicholson and Caleb Almeter were presented with the President’s Award for Educational Excellence at the 32nd annual Academic Awards Night held at the school on June 2.

The prestigious ceremony recognized students in grades nine through twelve for outstanding scholastic achievement and excellence throughout the academic school year.

Scholarship and monetary awards were presented on behalf of colleges and universities along with memorial awards in honor of former staff and community members.

Thirty students who participated in the 2013-2014 OCAY League were recognized for their contributions with a certificate.

The 2014 recipients of the Math Club Award were Jordyn Stone, Maureen McCann and Paige Havener. Stone, McCann and Havener are math club champions, their team, Tan 90 placed first in this year’s competition. Stone also placed first in the single category.

Jensen Paget and Mitchell Towsley, members of the Small Business Ownership and Entrepreneurship class at GRB, received a certificate for their service and dedication to The Raider’s Den, the school’s student run store.

Additionally, individual departments recognized students for exhibiting academic effort, improvement, achievement and excellence.
