George E. Woods, 83, of Hannibal passed away peacefully Tuesday at Oswego Hospital with his devoted family by his side.
George was born January 25, 1927 in Fulton to the late John and Elizabeth Woods and had resided in the Hannibal area most of his life. He retired as an oiler for Miller Brewing Company in 1992 after 13 years of service. George also loved his work as an electrician and electrical inspector.
He was predeceased by his wife of 52 years, May Woods; a son, Paul Woods and brothers, Francis, William and Raymond.
Surviving: children, Randolph Woods of Hannibal, Kathleen (Paul) Hicks of Sterling; grandchildren, Renee (Steve) Griffin of Sterling, Erin (Michael) Schane of Lake Ariel, PA, and Paul (Jamie) Hicks of Red Creek; eight great-grandchildren, Kate, Beau, Margaret, Emma, Brett, Ryan, Hunter and Hayden; a brother, Ken (Carol Lunkenheimer) Woods of Cato; a sister, Sharon (John) Boone of Rncho Cordova, CA; several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. with a 4 p.m. service to immediately follow at Foster Funeral Home, 837 Cayuga Street, Hannibal. Spring burial will be at Hannibal Village Cemetery.
