George Henry Moulton, 70


OSWEGO, NY – George Henry Moulton, 70, a resident of Oswego, died Sunday January 26, 2014, at Upstate Medical Hospital in Syracuse, NY.

He was born on June 21, 1943, the son of George and Lucille Moulton of Oswego, and attended the Campus School at SUNY and Oswego High School.

An adventurer at heart, he graduated from Alaska Methodist University in Anchorage, Alaska, in 1968, and taught school at the Hopi Indian Reservation in Winslow, Arizona, before returning to Oswego to serve as a transportation dispatcher.

A gifted modern artist in oils, an inventor and a bit of a gambler, George was known for his kindness, humor and generous spirit.

Preceded in death by his parents and brother, Lee Moulton, George is survived by his sister, Beverly Moulton Brandon; sister-in-law, Deanna Moulton; three nephews, three nieces; and 15 grand-nieces and grand-nephews; as well as a large circle of friends, including Susan Downey, Ron and Linda Schurr, Dick Fader and Jeanne and Gary Wolfort, to whom the family expresses sincere gratitude.

Arrangements will be made by Nelson Funeral Home, with internment at Riverside Cemetery to be announced in the spring.

    Sorry to hear of Georges assign. I went to school with George and he was a friend.

    Many fond memories of George during my formative years. I am sure he will be missed by many.

    George was a good friend in Oswego High School. It is sad to loos my old friends.
