FULTON, NY – George J. Wood, 94, of Scriba, passed away on Tuesday, April 25, 2017, at home.
He was born on March 27, 1923, in Fulton, a son to the late Floyd and Ethel Hall Wood.
After 35 years of service George retired from Armstrong Cork Co. in Volney.
Some of his hobbies he enjoyed were woodworking, fishing and camping.
He was predeceased by his wife, Sophie (Swiech), in 1998.
He will be greatly missed and forever loved by his three daughters, Diane (Frank) Arena of Liverpool, Georgia Wood of Scriba and Anna (Steve) Buchiere of Palmyra; two grandchildren, Allison (Seamus) Burke of Texas and Alexander Buchiere of Palmyra; two great-grandsons, George and Gordon Burke of Texas; sister, Rosemary Sickler of Scriba; faithful dog, Gus; as well as several nieces and nephews.
All services will be held privately.
Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Volney.
