OSWEGO, NY – Oswego resident, Michele Hamer, is on a mission. A mission to raise funds to benefit the Oswego West Pierhead Lighthouse Restoration project.

In addition to the cash bar, Gibby’s Irish Pub will be offering its famous chicken barbeque dinner for eat-in or take-out.

Hamer is also planning to offer raffles and other activities to round out this fun benefit. A karaoke dance party with “Patty C” will be featured.

Proceeds from the event will go towards the lighthouse restoration effort spearheaded by the H. Lee White Maritime Museum at Oswego.

This is part of several events that Hamer is involved in to raising money towards her goal of $2,000, the sum of which she will present at the upcoming event, “Adult Prom” hosted by Cre8 Solutions.

The Adult Prom is a new concept fund-raising event that benefits multiple not-for-profits in the area.

If Hamer is successful in raising the most funds for her not-for-profit, the Adult Prom event will match her total for the lighthouse project.

“I have always had a passion for the waterfront and its history and I have volunteered at events held by the museum for a number of years. Matter of fact, last year I worked on the production of the play, The Great Rope. The Oswego Lighthouse is an important icon of our community and I hope this generates support financially and in other ways.” Hamer said.

Tickets are available at Gibby’s and the maritime museum for $8 each.
