Girl Scout Troop Holds Bronze Award Project to Benefit Children’s Hospital

OSWEGO, NY – When deciding what they wanted to do to earn their Girl Scout Bronze Award, Kaitlyn Czerow, Clare Hook, Cecile Laundre, Julia Roman, Katie Fierro, and Cadie Lily from Girl Scout Junior Troop 10461, decided they wanted to do something for sick children.

So on June 2 from 1-3 p.m. the girls are holding an event at the St. Joseph’s Church on West First Street in Oswego to benefit the Golisano Children’s Hospital.

All Oswego area Girl Scouts are invited to attend.

The admission price is a donation of something from the wish list of the Golisano Children’s Hospital.

Girls that attend will be able to make and exchange SWAPS with other girls.

The troop hopes to have all age levels represented so girls can work together on bridging requirements.

The Girl Scout Bronze Award is the highest award that can be earned by a Girl Scout Junior.

To earn the award, girls must learn leadership and planning skills necessary to follow through on a project on which she spends at least 20 hours making a positive impact on her community.
