Gordon A. Avery, Jr.

Gordon A. Avery, Jr., 64, of Oswego died Monday at home after a long illness.

He was a life resident of Oswego County. Gordon was an Auto Detailer and had worked at Greg’s Auto in Fulton and the Auto Gallery in Oswego. He enjoyed watching wrestling, listening to “Golden Oldies” and was a Jeff Gordon fan. Gordon was very patriotic and proud of his country.

He was predeceased by his parents, Gordon A. and Bertha H. Cole Avery, Sr. and by two sons, Brian and Michael Avery.

Gordon is survived by his loving companion of many years, Sheila J. Jones and her children; his daughter, Tina (Stanley Reynolds) Tompkins; three sisters, Barbara (William) Graham, Sandra (Gary) Rainville and Jody Sedner; his separated wife, Roberta Kenyan Avery; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

At Gordon’s request there are no calling hours or funeral services. Contributions in memory of Gordon may be made to the American Cancer Society, Memorial Processing Center, 6725 Lyons St., P.O. Box 7, East Syracuse, New York 13057. Foster Funeral Home, Fulton has care of arrangements.
