Gordon D. Chappell, 79

FULTON, NY – Gordon D. Chappell, 79, of Fulton, died Friday November 22, 2013, at home.

Mr. Chappell was born in Chateaugay, NY, to the late Victor and Nellie (Pickeron) Chappell.

He retired from the City of Fulton Traffic Division after 30 + years of service.

Mr. Chappell loved to walk.  He would walk 5+ miles every day.

Mr. Chappell is survived by his wife, Darlene Chappell of Auburn, NY; three children: Victor Gordon Chappell of Fulton, Christopher (Kelly) Chappell of Fulton and Nicole (Douglas) Finley of Auburn, NY; one brother, Maynard (Betty) Chappell of South Carolina; 13 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

There will be no funeral service.

Burial will be held privately.

Calling hours will be conducted 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Sugar Funeral Home, Inc., 224 W. Second St. S., Fulton.

    I’m so sorry for your loss. I know you were close to your dad and spent a lot of time with him. And you were there with him at a very special time when he needed you most.
    My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this sorrowful time. It just takes time.

To the Chappell family so sorry for the loss of your father, Husband he was a good man known by many too we will remember him always for the kind person he was and the kind words he always had for every one but, Gordon told it like it was too we will miss you always I knew Gordon over 40 plus yrs R.I.P. Gordon Chappell until we meet again!!!!!!!
