Oswego, NY – Andrew’s Wine Cellar will welcome Gotham Wines, of South Australia, to their next wine tasting event to be held on Saturday, September 18th from 1-5pm. Representing Gotham Wines will be Bruce and Kate Clugston, father and daughter owners and winemakers of Gotham Wine.

Joining the Clugstons at the event will be Benjamin Mélin-Jones, owner of Rhum J.M of Martinique, John Junguenet, owner of Wines of France, Inc. based out of New York City, and Laura Corrigan of New York City, representing Terra Andina Winery of Chile.

“We’re thrilled to be highlighting Gotham Wines, RHUM J.M, Wines of France, Inc. and Terra Andina Winery at our upcoming September 18th tasting event,” said Andrew Bowman, owner of Andrew’s Wine Cellar.  “Our previous wine tastings have always been well received, and with these wonderful wines and a phenomenal rum such as RHUM J.M added to the September event, there should be a lot of great flavor.”
According to Bowman, Andrew’s Wine Cellar also recently underwent a significant expansion and renovation of their business location at the Canal Commons in Oswego, and are now the largest wine and liquor store in Oswego.
“The expansion has doubled the size of our location and provides a great setting for our wine tasting events,” said Bowman. “It has also allowed us to expand our wine products and we’re now offering all types of liquor at the store as well.”

Bruce Clugston and his wife Fiona White, created Gotham Wines in 2004 beginning with one Shiraz from the 2004 vintage from Langhorne Creek. Gotham wines are made mainly from fruit sourced from the wine growing regions of Australia. Their regional vineyard series consists of a large variety of reds including old vine varietals, Shiraz, Mataro and Grenache, as well as Cabernet and Merlot from Langhorne Creek, McLaren Vale & Barossa Valley regions. In 2008 they added whites, Riesling, Chardonnay and a Sauvignon Blanc Semillon to their portfolio. The James Halliday Australian Wine Companion recently gave the Gotham Winery 4.5 out of 5 stars. Approximately 600,000 bottles of Gotham Wines were sold last year.

Rhum J.M was named after Jean-Marie Martin, who purchased and transformed a sugar refinery into a distillery in 1845. Rhum J.M is an exquisite rum distilled on the smallest estate on Martinique. Due to its unique location and climate, Rhum J.M cuts their sugar later than other distilleries, which imparts a truly unique flavor to their rum.

Wines of France, Inc. is owned and operated by the Junguenet family. They are importers and national distributors of French wines. They are currently the #1 reference in the U.S. for the wines of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Representing wines of tremendous quality and value from all over France is their main objective.

Acquired in 2001 by the Claro wine group, Terra Andina Winery is an innovator within the Chilean wine industry. Terra Andina takes full advantage of the richness and diversity of Chile’s wine growing regions resulting in an abundance of high quality wines that are expressive, yet well balanced with fruit-forward intensities.

The September 18th wine tasting event will be held at the newly expanded and renovated Andrew’s Wine Cellar at 195 West First Street in the Canal Commons in Oswego, from 1-5 p.m. For more information, call Andrew’s Wine Cellar at (315) 342-5850.
