Granby Elementary Holds Family Math Night

In an effort to promote Math education, Granby Elementary School recently hosted a family math night event.

The event gave students and their parents, siblings and other relatives an opportunity to interact with one another and teaching staff while enjoying an entire evening of math-inspired fun.

Guests participated in challenging activities that reinforced essential math concepts as well as strengthened essential problem solving and communication skills.

Several different stations were set up, presenting math topics in a different way and appealing to a variety of different learning styles.

Essential math resources were shared with parents during the event as well as games and activities that they can easily recreate at home to help their child(ren) practice math.

Similar to the traditional game of War, each flipped over two standing playing cards and then multiplied the cards together. The player with the highest sum got to keep the cards for that round.
