Several awards were distributed to Granby sixth graders at their sixth grade promotion ceremony.
Principal Heather Perry expressed her pride in the sixth graders, whom she has known since she became the Granby principal in 2008 when the kids were kindergartners.
“I have watched them learn and grow over the last seven years,” said Perry. “I cannot begin to express how proud I am.”
Presidential Achievement awards were distributed to: Sierra Crast, Alisia Dishaw, Brandon Hacic, Evan Harten, Brayden Hartman, Sean Hein, Ella Hicks, Lauren Kingsley, Ryan Markarian, Sammantha McLoughlin, Sebastian Netzloff, Jaden Patterson, Julia Raymond, Brian Sullivan, Mackenzie Treneer, Cyrus Trude and Jacob Waters.
Presidential Excellence Awards were received by: Sidney Bradshaw, Skylar Gibson, Haiden Johnson, Leah Kingsbury, Emily Mackey, Hope Mirabito, Devon Nicholson, Sean Prock, Dylan Ray, Wesley Vanburen and Brianna Youmans.
Leah Kingsbury and Rachel Sharkey were awarded the Triple “C” award.
Devon Nicholson received the Jonas Book Award.
Sidney Bradshaw was presented with the Comptroller’s Award.
Perry encouraged the students to take what they have learned at Granby with them as they go to junior high, high school, college and beyond.
“Remember how hard you have worked and how good it felt to finish a project, pass a big test and learn something new,” she said.
