Granby Elementary teacher Justin Johnson has taken his teaching to the next level by writing his own books for his students to read.
“My career started with a group of second graders in Fulton,” said Johnson. “As the year came to a close I thought, Hey, I want to write a story for these guys, so I went home and began working very hard on my first book.”
As time passed and Johnson wrote more books.
Granby students loved his work so much that questions started to pour in about creative writing and publishing.
The school library decided to host a creative writing workshop for students in grades 4-6.
Sparks of imagination and creativity glittered in the eyes of budding writers as Johnson shared how he publishes his books and where he gets his ideas from.
He told the students that everyone could be a writer; all they needed to do was sit down, and start writing.
