Members of Peaceful Schools, a Syracuse-based organization specializing in social-emotional education and conflict resolutions, paid a visit to the school and performed the play “Have You Filled Your Bucket Today.”

The play, based on Carol McCloud’s award-winning books, used humor, outlandish characters and heartwarming stories to teach students the value in treating others the way you want to be treated.

Students were asked to “fill” imaginary buckets by simply displaying acts of kindness, and were warned to not “dip” into buckets by saying or doing hurtful things.

Students routinely roared with laughter and applause throughout the play and easily grasped the concept of respecting one another to become bucket fillers.
