OSWEGO — Members of the campus and community are invited to show their SUNY Oswego spirit for the second annual Green and Gold Day on Friday, Sept. 4.
Students, faculty, staff, alumni and members of the greater Oswego community are invited to don green and gold in an event that ties in with the national College Colors Day. Green and Gold Day also is part of Opening Week activities that welcome more than 2,000 new students into the campus community.
The night before — Thursday, Sept. 3 — will offer a preview as the Oswego Farmers’ Market hosts Welcome Back Students Night. The college’s Oswego Jazz Project will perform at the market, which runs from 5 to 9 p.m. on the block of West First Street just south of Bridge Street.
The city plans to fly green and gold flags on that block that whole week, and special green and gold gear will be available at the Oswego State Downtown store at the corner of West First and Bridge streets.
To bolster alumni involvement, an online Flickr pool at http://www.flickr.com/groups/oswegocolors will welcome photos of SUNY Oswego graduates wearing their green and gold anywhere in the world. Students, faculty, staff and other supporters are welcome to post their photos on the Flickr site as well.
Events are made possible by the cooperation of the college’s Oswego Alumni Association, Future Alumni Network, Office of Business and Community Relations, Compass, Student Association and Auxiliary Services as well as the Greater Oswego-Fulton Chamber of Commerce, City of Oswego and Campus-City Relations Committee.
