Guaranteed $1,000 Winner’s Purse Paid in Kartway’s Fall Frenzy 200 Championships on September 20

OSWEGO, NY – Oswego Kartway officials announced Wednesday that a guaranteed winner’s share of $1,000 will be up for grabs between the Stock Heavy 100 and the Clone Heavy 100 at the Kartway’s Fall Frenzy 200 Championships to be held on September 20.

The winner of the Stock Heavy and Clone Heavy mains will earn a guaranteed winner’s share of $500 a piece, plus other contingencies and lap monies, including the already published 70% entry fee benchmark to be paid to either the top five or top three finishers depending on the number of entries.

Dan Kapuscinski leads the Stock Heavy 100 field to the race's final restart on his way to claiming a record $1,000 pay day at Oswego Kartway during last year's Fall Frenzy 150. That record will likely be broken in 2014.

Dan Kapuscinski leads the Stock Heavy 100 field to the race’s final restart on his way to claiming a record $1,000 pay day at Oswego Kartway during last year’s Fall Frenzy 150. That record will likely be broken in 2014.

With that said, the winner of each main event is likely to walk away with at least $750 before any earned lap money or other contingencies are paid.

This year’s Fall Frenzy 200 is only the second event in Kartway history providing a purse payout.  Last year during the Fall Frenzy 150, Stock Heavy 100 champion Dan Kapuscinski, cleared just over $1,000 in total for his efforts.  That pay record is no doubt likely to be broken in 2014.

A total of $400 in other contingencies will also be paid on September 20.

Gioia Signs of Oswego has come on board to sponsor the $100 Halfway Leader Award for the Stock Heavy 100, while Burris Racing Tire will sponsor the Stock Heavy 100 Fast Time Award in time trials.

GS Steamers Bar & Grill of Oswego will be the sponsor of the Clone Heavy 100 Halfway Leader Award, with another $100 to be posted for the Fast Time Award in Clone Heavy time trials.

The RJ Kart Sales Fall Frenzy series begins this Friday, September 5, with the first of two qualifying nights for the Fall Frenzy 200 Championships on September 20.

The second qualifying night in the series will be September 12.

The Saturday night program will allow officials to increase the Clone Heavy Championship to 100-laps, without fear of curfew issues, making this year’s main attraction the ‘RJ Kart Sales’ Fall Frenzy 200.

The Fall Frenzy qualifying nights on September 5 and September 12, which will see qualifying heat lineups determined by pill draw, will reward drivers who drive to victory lane in Stock Heavy and Clone Heavy on those nights.

Qualifying night feature winners in Stock Heavy and Clone Heavy will be locked onto the front row for the Fall Frenzy 200 on September 20 in their respective divisions. Should a driver win both qualifying night features, the driver that finishes in second position on September 12 will lock onto the front row as well.

Those front row starters will still participate in qualifying time trials on September 20, with the fastest of the two starting on the pole position and the other starting outside of row one.

A total of eight more karts will join the front row for each Fall Frenzy 100 lap main through time trials on September 20.  Those who do not time in will participate in a B-Main to set the final two karts in the order.

No more than 12 karts will start either the Stock Heavy 100 or the Clone Heavy 100.

Entry fees for the Stock Heavy 100 and Clone Heavy 100 will be the same in 2014, with member pricing introduced in 2014, as opposed to pre-entry fees.  This year’s entry fee will also include a pit pass for the Fall Frenzy 200.

The Stock Heavy 100 and Clone Heavy 100 will each have an Oswego Kartway member entry fee of $50.  Non-member fee for each race will be $60.

Qualifying night entry fees will be the same as the regular season.

Both divisions will again have a 70% cash payout based on the number of entries. If there are 20 or more entries the Top5 finishers will be paid. If there are 19 or fewer, the Top3 will receive a payout.

Lap sponsorships will again be made available in 2014. Nearly $800 in lap money was generated in 2013, making for a total of nearly $2,000 in prize money awarded at last year’s Fall Frenzy 150.

The Fall Frenzy 200 will follow all weekly Oswego Kartway tech rules. The Kartway’s rulebook is available at www.oswegokartway.com. All divisions will be required to run Burris tires. Entrants in the Stock Heavy 100 and Clone Heavy 100 must be at least 15 years of age.

All other divisions Kartway divisions, aside from Stock and Clone Heavy, will participate in all three nights of the Fall Frenzy series and will use the two qualifying nights to set their heat race lineups for the Frenzy finale on September 20.  Heat lineups will be set by overall points from the first two events on September 5 and September 12, with the driver accumulating the most points starting on the pole position.  Feature lineups will then be set straight up from heat finishes.

All support divisions will run for Top3 trophies during the Fall Frenzy 200 Championships on September 20.
