Under the direction of Shirley Terrinoni, the 47-member band began the concert by performing pop icon Taylor Swift’s “Shake it Off,” followed by James Swearingen’s “Majestia,” Frank Ticheli’s “Shenandoah” and Peter Tschaikowsky’s “March from Symphony No. 2.”

The audience applauded after hearing each arrangement.

The band closed out the performance by playing a medley of hits from the British rock band Queen.

Terrinoni said the next high school band concert will be filled with more traditional pieces around the holidays.
