Hannibal Historical Society Spring Schedule Starts Feb. 27

HANNIBAL, NY -The Hannibal Historical Society begins its spring schedule with a covered dish dinner on February 27 at 6 p.m. at the Community Center on Oswego Street.

Members and friends are invited to bring a dish to pass and their own place setting.

A business meeting will follow the dinner.

On March 26, the group will meet at the Community Center at 7 p.m. to hear about ghosts.

Stacy Jones a ghost hunter from Skaneateles will talk about methods of communicating with ghosts and specifically about ghosts discovered at the Hannibal Quick Mart.

Refreshments will follow.

On April 23, at 7 p.m. at the Hannibal United Methodist Church, Eleanor Stearns from Geneva will portray Amelia Earhart, one of the ladies she represents in her “Women of Vision” series.

Stearns will come dressed as Amelia Earhart; she has been to Atchison, Kansas, where Amelia was born and was able to view letters, clothing and artifacts of Amelia and her family.

This research has helped make her presentation come alive.

She will tell incidents in Amelia Earhart’s life that led her to become interested in flying, will share Amelia’s rather unusual view of marriage and present her strong feelings about the role of women in society.

Refreshments will follow.
