Hannibal to host anti-bullying conference

On March 27 the Hannibal High School Anti-bullying group,  in conjunction with the Hannibal Faculty Association, Hannibal Home and School and the Hannibal Central School District with Arts in Education funding, will present a free viewing of the film “Bully.”

The film portrays the difficulties and issues frequently related to bullying through the lens of several students at the East Middle School in Sioux City, Iowa.

This film is rated PG-13 and is scheduled for 6 p.m. in the high school auditorium.

Immediately following the showing will be a presentation by Brooks Gibbs.

Gibbs has earned a reputation as a leading authority on the issue of bullying.

He will discuss strategies parents and community members can use to empower our youth.

Due to the PG-13 rating, students 13 and under must be accompanied by an adult to view the film.

Babysitting will be provided by members of the high school anti-bullying group, National Honor Society, Key Club and Student Council.

We invite the community to join us.  If you have any questions, please contact Arlene Laut or Nicole Erkan at the high school, 564-7910.
