OSWEGO, NY – Oswego Harborfest is pleased to announce the 2016 Children’s Parade, sponsored by Oswego Health.
The parade invites children of all ages and their families to attend the annual event, which begins July 29 at 1:30 p.m. in Breitbeck Park, and travels along Lake Street to West Fifth and concludes in the Novelis Family Park at Franklin Square.
There will be many pre-parade activities that morning in Breitbeck Park for everyone to enjoy.
Following the parade, parents can bring their children by the Oswego Health Activity Area, located at the end site for the parade in Novelis Family Park.
There, families can enjoy a carnival-like setting with many games for children to win prizes.
There will be an obstacle course, football toss, a putting green, and a game featuring a small pond with boats that correspond to prizes.
The parade and activities are a great way to get out and enjoy the beautiful summer weather in Oswego, and to experience the festival while staying active.
Harborfest is one of the few admission-free music festivals in the country.
It was founded with the mission of creating nationally recognized festivals and events that attract and engage a broad and diverse audience, celebrate and build community, and advance economic development in Oswego.
It would not be possible to continue the event without the massive continued support received from the city of Oswego, businesses, organizations, government entities and individuals and family members.
