Oswego, NY – The line-up is set for the NRG Lakeview Stage at Breitbeck Park for Harborfest 2011. Barenaked Ladies will be the featured headliner on Friday, July 29 with local favorite Frostbit Blue opening for the popular Canadian alternative rockers. Frostbit Blue will take the stage beginning at 7:30 PM, followed by Barenaked Ladies at 9:30 PM.
“We’re very fortunate to have the tremendous support from our local sponsors such as NRG Energy,” said Tom Van Schaack, Executive Director of Harborfest. “NRG Energy has once again stepped up in a big way to support this year’s festival. Without sponsors like NRG Energy, there is no way Harborfest would be able to continue being an admission free event every year.”
The NRG Lakeview Stage opens Harborfest 2011 on Thursday, July 28 highlighted by The Machine, performing their Pink Floyd tribute featuring a spectacular laser show choreographed to the music. The Jody Raffoul Band will open for The Machine beginning at 7 PM on the NRG Lakeview Stage.
Saturday, July 30, the music gets underway on the NRG Lakeview Stage at 4 PM with Chris Taylor and the Custom Taylor Band, followed by country music singer and former Nashville Star semi-finalist and Buffalo native Sean Patrick McGraw. Brass Inc. takes the stage at 8 PM and will rock Breitbeck Park until the Saturday Fireworks Spectacular. Following the fireworks, Brass Inc. will again take the stage before Ten Man Push closes out Saturday on the NRG Lakeview Stage at 11:15 PM.
The Brian Lindsay Band gets Sunday, July 31 rolling on the NRG Lakeview Stage at 1 PM. Then a British-invasion flavor takes over with Magical Mystery Tour followed by Herman’s Hermits starring Peter Noone.
According to NRG’s Plant Manager Bob Marko, “We’re pleased to once again be the main sponsor of Harborfest. Our people are proud to be a part of this community and you’ll see them there over the weekend, enjoying the festival with their friends and neighbors.”
There will be plenty of great food and shopping at Breitbeck Park all weekend long. Breitbeck Park will open Thursday, July 28 at 5 PM. Friday, Breitbeck Park will open at 11 AM as the Oswego Health/Harborfest Children’s Parade route will take participants from West Park to Breitbeck Park. Saturday and Sunday, Breitbeck Park will open at 11 AM.
In addition to the music on the NRG Lakeview Stage in Breitbeck Park, there is also free live music scheduled for the Veteran’s Stage at Riverwalk West Friday-Sunday as well as free live jazz and blues at East Park Friday-Sunday nights. The Novelis Family Park at East Park will be open Saturday and Sunday, filled with great entertainment and programming including this year’s Children’s Musical “Pirates of Penzance”.
