Harold “Apple” Willard

Harold “Apple” Willard, 80 of Granby, passed away at Oswego Hospital on September 11, 2011 which was the 59th anniversary of his marriage to his beloved wife, Barbara (Perkins) Willard.

He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War, serving on the battleship U.S.S. Wisconsin. Apple was employed by Certified Heating and Nestle Company before joining Local #73 Plumbers & Steamfitters Union and then worked at the Oswego Steam Station for Stone & Webster and at Miller Brewery where he retired in 1991.

Apple was a member and past master of Hannibal Masonic Lodge #550; member of Hannibal United Methodist Church; 10 year member of the Hannibal School Board and 20 year member of the Oswego County B.O.C.E.S. Board. He was an avid golfer and loved to spend his winters in Myrtle Beach, SC.

Surviving besides his wife, Barbara, are his five children, Krysa (James) Heckathorne, Korey (Bonnie) Willard, Kerrilee (Gary Paricio) McGlen, Kasey Willard and Kadi (John) Edgerton and three grandsons.

Calling hours are from 2 to 5 p.m. Thursday at Foster Funeral Home, 837 Cayuga Street, Hannibal with Masonic services at 5 p.m. A celebration of life will immediately follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241-7005 or to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure (Breast Cancer), C.N.Y. Affiliate, 5008 Brittonfield Pkwy., East Syracuse, NY 13057.
