Harry F. Collins, 88

FULTON, NY – Harry F. Collins, 88, of Fulton, died Sunday, September 2, 2012.

He was born in Fulton, a son to the late Ralph and Edna Collins.

Harry was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II and the Korean War.

Harry was a life member of the Fulton V.F.W.  Post #569 and a member of the Parachute Club of America.

He was very involved with Alcoholics Anonymous and started the Lake Effect A.A. group in Oswego.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his grandson, Dameon M. Collins.

Harry is survived by his six children, Karen Collins of California, Kathy (Frank) Silfies of Rochester, Richard Collins of Florida, LouAnn (James) Collins-Warren of Fulton, Michael (Jaime) Collins of Nevada and Sean (Kate) Collins of Fulton; 10 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, September 21, at the First United Methodist Church of Fulton, 1408 State Route 176, Fulton.

Burial, with military honors conducted by the Fulton V.F.W. Post #569 and the U.S. Marine Corps, will be in Fairdale Rural Cemetery, Hannibal.

  1. Uncle Harry was one of those people who could make you laugh about standing in line at the DMV…We Acker kids grew up with the first family,…the Place kids grew up with the second. My Dad loved him like a brother…We will miss him and his jokes…We will always be thankful he was part of our lives….Semper Fi…Uncle Harry
