Harry Harrison Thrall, Jr., 87, a resident of East Sixth St. Oswego, passed away August 23, 2011 at Pontiac Care and Rehab.
Born in Oswego, he was the son of the late Harry Sr. and Nora (Serow) Thrall.
He was a WWII Army Veteran.
Harry worked at the Oswego Fire Department for over 32 years retiring on January 15, 1981.
He was a member of the American Legion, the V.F.W. and the Softball Hall of Fame.
Harry enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was an avid Red Sox and Washington Redskins fan. He was a Charter Member of the 5W Club.
Surviving are his wife, Carolyn (Guynn) Thrall; three daughters, Janice (Leonard Jr.) Costello of Scriba; Nancy (John) Pauldine of Oswego; Eileen (Thomas) Cernaro of Scriba; five grandchildren, Amy (Eric) Connors, Karilyn (Brian) Haley, Jamie (Ashley) Cernaro, Gregory Costello and Jason Cernaro; six great-grandchildren; a nephew Michael (Jeanne) Thrall of N.C.
He was predeceased by a brother, Edmond Thrall and a close cousin, William Hurley.
Funeral Service will be held 11a.m. Wednesday, August 31st at Paige Memorial Chapel in Riverside Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held 4-7p.m. Tuesday at the Nelson Funeral Home, 11 West Albany St. Oswego.
