Hazen-Forte Recognized for Entrepreneurial Success

At its annual meeting in June, Operation Oswego County (OOC) presented Heidi Hazen-Forte with its 2010 Dee Heckethorn Entrepreneur Award. Hazen-Forte was recognized for her entrepreneurial spirit and determination in establishing an innovative business, an indoor sports facility tailored for girls’ fast pitch softball training. The facility also offers classes to its athletes such as recruiting preparation and college placement, sport nutrition, time management skills and sport psychology. Hazen-Forte was also recognized for taking considerable risk in building a new 6,400-square-foot building in the Rich Corporate Park in the town of Hastings. Pictured are, from left, Nancy Bellow, OOC board president, Hazen-Forte and L. Michael Treadwell, OOC executive director.
