FULTON, NY – Looking to ensure your child is prepared for kindergarten experience? Oswego County Head Start offers children a quality Pre-K program focused on preparing them for a successful transition to kindergarten.
Head Start, which enrolls three- and four-year-old children, is provided at no cost to eligible families and is currently accepting applications for the 2014-2015 program year.
Applications will be taken at the following locations:
August 20 for Fulton and Phoenix at the Fulton Municipal Building from 9 a.m. – 7 p.m.,
August 20 at the Williamstown Head Start site from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.,
August 22 at the Cleveland Head Start site from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.,
August 20 at the Oswego Head Start site from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
August 22 at the OCO Senior Nutrition site in Mexico from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Through a variety of learning materials and developmentally appropriate opportunities Head Start promotes school readiness that assists children in developing academically, socially, and emotionally.
Family involvement is strongly encouraged. Parents have a central role in the Head Start Pre-K program as partners in the educational process. There are opportunities to be involved in parent committees, volunteer in the classrooms, be a part of program development, and attend workshops.
A program of OCO, Head Start Pre-K has seven centers located throughout Oswego County and enrolls children from all nine county school districts.
