FULTON, NY – Fulton City School District’s commitment to parent engagement is launching a series of events called the Family Academy.
The Family Academy is collaboration between the Fulton City School District and community-based partners to acknowledge and support family involvement in student achievement.
The purpose of the Family Academy is to equip parents in helping their children academically and in other ways as well.
The first family event will be held on September 14 at 1 p.m. at the Education Center to celebrate the importance of school attendance.
This family event is to raise awareness of the importance of school attendance as part of the National Attendance Works Attendance Awareness month campaign.
Food, activities, games, prizes and music will be provided free of charge to attendees.
On September 15, parents of 7th – 12th graders are invited to meet from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. in Room 114 at G. Ray Bodley High School.
Parents will learn how to access their children’s assignments and grades online utilizing a program called School Tools.
The presentation will be conducted by Stephanie Maturo, director of Technology, and Nathan Murray, Common Core technology coordinator.
Prior to the 6:30 p.m. meeting the Title 1 Parent Advisory Group will meet in Room 114 to talk about family engagement and the Regents Reform Agenda.
The parent advisory group is facilitated by Elizabeth Conners, executive director of Curriculum and Instruction.
