Heritage Hunters Fall Genealogy Conference

Michael Brophy, a professional genealogical researcher, columnist and lecturer in the Boston area, will present four workshops at the annual Heritage Hunters Fall Conference.

The conference will be held on October 19 at Saratoga Town Hall in Schuylerville, at the corner of Route 4 and Route 29, (12 Spring St.).

Brophy is program director for the Massachusetts Genealogical Council and past Publicity Director. He served as treasurer of the New England Association of Professional Genealogists.

He holds an MBA degree from Suffolk University and a BBA from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.

He conducted research for the NBC television program Who Do You Think You Are? on the family history of actress Gwenyth Paltrow.

The conference topics are: Paddy on the Net: Information about our Irish Ancestors on the Internet; Kilroy Was Here: A rich family history that demonstrates a wide variety of methodology and source material; Researching Living Descendents: A way to give your family history new life and excitement; Snag-it for Genealogists: Create engaging images to enhance your family history presentation.

The day begins with registration, exhibits and coffee at 8:45 a.m. and will conclude at 3:15 p.m. Registration, $30 for members and $40 for non-members, is requested by October 14.

A hot lunch is included.
