High School Students Get Info on VESID

Gary McIlvain of Career Employment Services, a division of Oswego Industries, Inc., recently visited high schools to let upperclassmen know about opportunities available through the NY State Education Department’s office of Vocational and Educational Services for Individuals with Disabilities (VESID).  VESID can offer assistance in reaching education and employment goals for individuals who qualify.  Career Employment Services (CES) is contracted with VESID to provide a variety of Vocational Rehabilitation Services to residents of Oswego County, including job training, assistance in job search and placement, access to innovative assistive technologies, and long-term job retention support.  CES, a community-based employment program, has been assisting Oswego County residents with disabilities for over 20 years.  Its parent organization, Oswego Industries, Inc., has provided additional services such as supported employment and day habilitation since 1968.
