MINETTO, NY – The history of the Battle Island and the Oswego Canal will be the topics of the next meeting of the Minetto History Buffs.
The meeting is set for 1 p.m. Nov. 19 at the Minetto Town Hall.
Dick Drosse will present a program of slides and information on the historical aspects of Battle Island area and of the Oswego River and Canal.
The Oswego River, between Minetto and Fulton, is one of the historic and scenic sections of the river.
Drosse is an outdoor enthusiast with an interest in local history.
Participants will have the opportunity to learn about the connection between Battle Island and the French and Indian War, as well as its connection with our historical canal.
Refreshments will be served.
The public is invited to attend.
