FULTON, NY – With a new facility, CNY Arts Center is inviting the public to celebrate the holidays during its first Holiday Open House, Dec. 8, from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. at State Street Methodist Church, 357 State St.
A day of fun events and activities are planned including Make and Take holiday crafts and bow making with expert Mary Jane Visser.
Instructors will be on hand to discuss upcoming Winter Quarter classes and answer questions.
Guests can gather information on programming for all ages in each of the art areas including Writing Arts, Studio Fine Arts, Culinary Arts, and Performing Arts.
An art exhibit will also be on display featuring the work of Arts Center instructors with the set of Yes, Virginia…the Musical as a backdrop.
CNY Arts Center board members will give tours of the new facility and Area Art coordinators will explain opportunities for artists with Writer’s Café and Author Spotlight, the popular Public Art program, Artist Café and Artist Spotlight, the 2013 Harborfest Community Mural Project and more.
The open house will also feature the debut of I Live as a Cloud, CNY Arts Center’s own recently published book of children’s short stories, poems and art work, compiled by Jim Farfaglia.
Children who contributed to the book will read their selections and sign copies of books available for purchase at the open house.
Holiday goodies and sweet treats will be served, while guests are invited to try a little hands-on cookie decorating and take home a handmade holiday gift from CNY Arts Center.
“The day promises to be one of celebration in a relaxed holiday atmosphere,” said Alice Lamb, event coordinator. “We’re excited to share our new facility with the community and truly hope everyone will stop by.”
