Hot Spots Help Warm Up Oswego

OSWEGO, NY – Event officials have been working non-stop to make sure the eighth annual Warm Up Oswego Festival is a success for the community.

Visitors to this year’s event are encouraged to stop by the 2013 Warm Up Fiesta Hot Spots and enjoy community-wide events.

Warm Up Oswego Festival Hot Spots include: LaParilla, G.S. Steamers, Greene’s Ale House & Grille, The Raven Pub and Canale’s.

The festival will kick off February 1 at 6 p.m. with a a twilight bonfire where the Snow Sculpture contest entries will receive their cash awards.

The Snowbelters will sing some hot Tunes and hot chocolate and hot dogs will be served up by the Oswego Boy Scouts Troop 888.

Barn dancing at the McCrobie Building, Mug O’ Music at Taste the World in Canal Commons, Cantus at SUNY Oswego and a Hot Wing Contest sponsored by the Child Advocacy Center at G.S. Steamers round out provide plenty of entertainment on Friday night.

On February 2, Warm Up Oswego will spice up the city with a Hot 2 Trot 2k Race at noon at the Y Armory.

Kids find treasure in the snow, a Hot Downtown Scavenger Hunt through 25 downtown stores and Crazy Costume Sled Race makes Saturday fun for all ages.

The YMCA Armory is the center for indoor and outdoor events for all.

The festival heats up with fireworks by Pyrotecnico on Saturday at 6 p.m. over the Oswego River.

And the Hot Spots continue the fun throughout the evening at G.S. Steamers, Greene’s Ale House, The Raven and a Music Hall Concert with Cliff Eberhardt at the McCrobie Civic Center at 8 p.m.

Warm Up Oswego brings out plenty of people to lift the spirits and the excitement to turn up the heat and show off Oswego as the winter hot spot for Central New York.
