The results are in and once again, Huhtamaki and the caring employees at their Fulton plant have demonstrated their concern for their community with another successful employee campaign in support of the United Way of Greater Oswego County.

Huhtamaki’s employees exceeded their goal and have raised more than $27,000 for the United Way of Greater Oswego County’s Annual Campaign.  That, combined with a corporate donation of $20,000 Huhtamaki provides a welcomed boost to the Annual Campaign.  The United Way’s annual campaign serves as the organizations primary fundraiser as the campaign looks to raise money in support of the many human services programs that the United Way and its member agencies provide for those who live in Oswego County.

Nick Habel, Human Resources Manager and coordinator of Huhtamaki’s employee campaign is pleased with the results and proud of the support that the campaign received and credited Huhtamaki’s employees for their positive response to this year’s campaign.

“Once again, our employees stepped up and gave from their hearts at a higher level of giving than in the past.  With the assistance I received from Lois Luber of the United Way and the guest speakers that attended our employee meetings, I really had the easiest part in our campaign,” said Habel.

“At our employee meetings I raised concerns about our current economy and asked everyone to stop, take a moment, and think about our jobs at Huhtamaki…our benefits, our working conditions and our wages.  I then gave them an example of how they could easily donate $1.00 per week by giving up as little as four minutes of their of weekly work and earnings to help our friends and fellow citizens in Oswego County who are in need of the services that are supported by the United Way.  We surpassed our goal and I am very proud of being part of our Huhtamaki team and how we interact within the community.”

“We are very appreciative of the support we have received from Huhtamaki,” said Lois Luber, Resource Development Director with the United Way of Greater Oswego County.  “Nick ran a very successful campaign and we proud to have Huhtamaki as one of our strongest supporters.”
